Violent Videogames Causing Gamers To Lash Out?

Here is an on going controversy, some say that videogames cause violence. I definately do not support that statement. It is honestly a great stress reliever if anything where you can act out violence in games and better in games then in reality. There are so many issues and many politicians and certain people are trying to ban certain games from being released. Some laws are already made such as no one under 17 years old can purchase a mature game without proper ID. Eventually they may not allow some games to ever be released due to its content. But this is pretty much freedom of speech and if you can say videogames are causing certain violence then you can say the same for movies, tv shows, and even some cartoons. So please let me know how you feel about this issue my fellow gamers!

  2. Ehh...I'm kind of torn. I definitely agree that I believe video games itself don't cause humans to be violent, but I do agree that they portray an image for certain humans to be violent...

Like with all the stuff that has happened with the Grand Theft Auto series and reports of kids engaging in crime acts after they played it...

I don't believe the game is directly responsible. Clearly these kids have issues and there's psychological factors that cause them to do it, like not being raised right or stuff like that. Also I've heard that those that got in trouble just used the GTA as an excuse to get off the hook.

So who knows honestly. It's the same concept as rated R movies. I've never been turned down for a rated R movie. I've been buying tickets for them since I was 12...same goes for games rated M. No one really cares or checks. It's bound to happen eventually. The only cause of violence is that of those not in a sound state of mind.
